That’s right folks, YouTube TV has added the MT (*formerly known as The Velocity Channel** (and a few others including the Discovery Channels ) to it’s lineup. Barrett Jackson Palm Beach will be on the channel this weekend. They’re also supposed to have rights to all the old Top Gear seasons as well. You’re no longer stuck watching the handful of episodes that are free on Prime. Having NBC Sports and now MT makes YT TV the best streaming option for enthusiasts IMO.

Did they mention if there will be any free content? Or is it only the channel and only on the streaming service

All of MoD?  including top gear episodes?  This could almost make me interested in paying for it considering their on demand app is trash.

Oh the irony of Motor trend backing away from YouTube, then coming back.

It’s also available through Amazon Prime. I finally took the plunge last week, w hen I saw I could just pull it up through my Fire Stick on my TV.

MT is on prime?  Does that mean Roadkill and Dirt Everyday are available to watch on prime?

It’s included with your YouTube TV subscription, same as the other channels. I don’t know if they will have everything that they had on the old regular YouTube channel. Like Head-2-Heads. From the channel guide it looks like a mashup of old Velocity programming, their own content, and rights content like “ Everyday Driver” episodes, etc...

Youtube TV got my money because they provide our local sports channel with no restrictions. Short of paying for a ludicrous cable package ($100+/mo) there is no other way to (ahem, legally) watch local baseball, football, or hockey games. I don’t watch a ton but I do like to have them.

MT is a total bonus!

Oh really? Is it all included? Or do they give you 6 episodes free, and you have to rent the rest ( like a lot of their content)?

Still b etter than any cable service. Discovery’s channel lineup was also added. All I'm missing now is the History Channel.

But that’s a lot more than sling and philo.

Philo is 16 bucks, includes 45 channels, and includes motor trend and history.

Sling has those also and a total of 30 channels for only 15 bucks

Even that is too much for me. I don’t watch nearly enough TV to spend more than the 10 bucks I spend on Hulu

Yep.  I’ve been catching up on Dirt Everyday and Roadkill.  You still have to pay the $4.99/month fee. What was holding me back wasn’t the price, it was that I didn’t want to sit at my computer, or mess around with hooking a laptop up to my tv.  With it being available through Amazon, it was just the click of a remote away.

Oh damn, I’ve never heard of Philo before now. That seems like a much better option. PLUS History!?!?

You get 7 days free trial, and then it’s $4.99/month after that. It wasn’t the price that had stopped me from the service, it was that I didn’t want to sit at my computer to watch, or mess around with hooking up a laptop to my TV.

Does this include Roadkill?

So there is currently one episode of Roadkill (newest one?), no Dirt Every Day, and no Engine Masters. Why are they raising the price 25% again?

I think it's new. I'm too cheap for it but it looks promising if you want live tv

Well, to be fair they backed away from free Youtube, and are now coming to paid Youtube TV. And there isn’t much of MotorTrend on YTV currently (a single episode of Roadkill is the only interesting thing I found...)

I assume bec ause of adding the Discovery lineup. I’m sure t hey had to  pay them a hefty fee.

Total bullshit that the cost goes from $35 to $50. That is a huge increase, and you don’t have the option to select a lower tier with less channels.

I started at $29 when it first came out. While it’s still good value, a 4 0% cost increase is ridiculous.

$35 to $50 is a 42% increase.  (Edit: I was grandfathered in at $35.  May 20 everyone goes to $50)

Yeah, I just started paying for YTV at $40 /mo. I think the math works out there.

No local channels or sports. That was originally what I got YTTV for.
